Duties
- Provide comprehensive desktop support to end-users, resolving issues related to hardware, software, and operating systems such as Windows and macOS
- Configure, maintain, and troubleshoot computer hardware components including servers, workstations, and peripherals
- Manage network infrastructure including computer networking, LAN (Local Area Network), VPN (Virtual Private Network), DNS (Domain Name System), TCP/IP protocols, firewalls, and switches to ensure reliable connectivity
- Support server environments utilizing Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory for user account management and security policies
- Assist with software troubleshooting across various applications including Microsoft Office suite and enterprise tools like SCCM (System Center Configuration Manager), ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy
- Monitor and maintain network security by configuring firewalls, VPNs, and other security measures to protect organizational data
- Document technical procedures and incidents using help desk tools such as ServiceNow or Jira; escalate complex issues when necessary
- Conduct analysis of system logs and network traffic to identify potential issues or vulnerabilities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement system upgrades, patches, and new hardware deployments
Skills
- Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN/WAN architecture, TCP/IP protocols, DNS management, VPN setup, and firewall configuration
- Proficiency in desktop support for Windows (including Windows Server) and macOS operating systems
- Experience troubleshooting software issues within Microsoft Office applications and enterprise management tools like SCCM or BMC Remedy
- Familiarity with hardware components such as computers, servers, switches, routers, and peripherals
- Ability to support Linux-based systems and understand basic Linux commands for troubleshooting purposes
- Knowledge of Active Directory administration for user account management and security policies
- Excellent communication skills to effectively assist users at all levels of technical proficiency
- Analysis skills for diagnosing complex technical problems quickly and accurately
- Experience with remote support tools such as Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP) or similar platforms
