We are looking for enthusiastic Domestic Assistants for our nursing home.
Excel Care Homes Ltd operates Aniska Lodge in the beautiful West Sussex countryside offering a safe and friendly environment, catering primarily to elderly residents with dementia and/or nursing needs.
Situated just outside the charming village of Warninglid, Aniska Lodge is a Grade II listed building with a purpose built extension backing onto woodlands.
Please note that there is no public transport to Aniska Lodge although staff transport (at a small cost) is available from Crawley.
Reporting to Home Manager and Housekeeper.
Main Duties to include (not definitive):
- Working as part of a team responsible for providing a high standard of cleaning duties to all parts of the home including, floors and communal areas, kitchen areas, residents' rooms, internal glass and windows, etc.
- To respect the dignity of the residents in the Home, ensuring you knock on the residents’ rooms before entering, that you do not enter if a resident is in the toilet or bathroom or getting dressed/undressed.
- To be aware of all safety and emergency procedures and be ready to act on them when necessary.
- To be familiar with cleaning materials and ensure stain treatments are carried out as soon as possible.
- To develop knowledge and awareness of cleaning substances and to be aware of dangers associated with them, ensuring they are kept safe and in locked cupboards.
- To report any breakages as soon as they occur or any shortages of equipment to the Domestic Supervisor.
- To ensure cleaning equipment and materials are kept with you at all times and not left where residents can reach them.
Experience not necessary, but we require enthusiasm and attention to detail.
Full time (5 days) positions available (part time may also be possible). All positions include weekend and Bank Holiday shifts.
Successful applicants will be required to have an enhanced DBS. Please note we do not hold a sponsorship licence.
