Healthcare Assistant – Day or Night Shifts
We are looking for a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our supportive care team. You will provide high-quality, person-centred care and help individuals maintain their dignity, independence and well-being.
Available shifts
- Day shifts: 7:30 am–9:00 pm
- Night shifts: 9:00 pm–7:30 am
Applicants should be available to work day or night shifts, including weekends and bank holidays where required.
Key responsibilities
- Providing personal care, including bathing, dressing, toileting and feeding
- Supporting individuals with mobility, repositioning and transportation needs
- Monitoring and accurately recording vital signs and changes in well-being
- Assisting healthcare professionals with treatments and procedures
- Maintaining clear and accurate electronic care records
- Supporting individuals’ emotional, social and physical well-being
- Promoting dignity, independence, choice and respect
- Maintaining a clean, comfortable and safe care environment
- Following safeguarding, infection-control and health and safety procedures
- Reporting concerns or changes in an individual’s condition promptly
Experience and skills
Previous care experience is welcomed but not essential. We are willing to support suitable applicants who have no previous experience. The necessary work-based training and guidance will be provided.
Applicants should have:
- Good spoken and written English
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Basic IT skills or a willingness to learn how to maintain electronic care records
- A compassionate, patient and respectful approach
- The ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team
- Reliability, attention to detail and a genuine commitment to delivering excellent care
The successful candidate will be required to complete and actively participate in all relevant mandatory and role-specific training. They must also be willing to undertake refresher training and ongoing professional development when required.
