Job Summary
We are seeking a highly organised and professional Medical Secretary to join our healthcare team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing secretarial support within a busy medical practice, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. Responsibilities/Skills
- Experience as a medical secretary, dealing with patients and answering the telephone.
- Knowledge of Windows and Windows applications, electronic audio dictating and transcribing.
- Handling incoming calls, emails, and correspondence in a courteous and professional manner
- Assisting with billing procedures, insurance claims, and payment processing.
- Coordinating with medical staff to ensure timely flow of information and documentation
- Ensuring compliance with confidentiality regulations and data protection standards
- Supporting the clinic team and medical secretary with general administrative/secretarial duties as required.
- Previous Secretarial experience
- qualification in word processing / audio typing. Basic database qualification. Qualification in the use of medical terminology
- Proven office experience with strong organisational skills
- Previous administrative experience within a healthcare or medical environment is advantageous
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in British English
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and electronic health record systems
- Ability to prioritise tasks effectively whilst maintaining attention to detail
- Discretion and professionalism when handling sensitive patient information
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently under pressure
