VANRATH are working with a well established specialist automotive business in the Ballymena area on the recruitment of a Vehicle Mechanic / Technician for their growing workshop team.
The company builds, services and modifies bespoke commercial and utility vehicles and has built a strong reputation for doing it well. This is a hands on workshop post covering a broad mix of servicing, repair and fitting work, and the client is keen to hear from dependable technicians who can get on with the day to day workload under their own steam.
The Role
The successful Vehicle Technician will be responsible for:
- Servicing, repair and maintenance work to a consistently high standard
- Carrying out clutch work and general mechanical repairs
- Fitting towing equipment, accessories and specialist vehicle components
- Inspecting vehicles and pinpointing mechanical faults
- Basic diagnostics and fault finding
- Keeping the workshop running efficiently and standards of workmanship high
- Working under your own initiative with a close eye on detail
The Person
Applicants should have:
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician or Mechanic
- Solid mechanical knowledge and time served in a workshop environment
- Confidence handling servicing and general repair work without supervision
- Sound problem solving ability and the initiative to use it
- Diagnostics and fault finding experience, which would be an advantage
- A reliable work ethic and a positive approach
You do not need to be at full Master Technician level for this one. It will suit a technician who is past newly qualified and comfortable taking on core workshop duties on their own, though happy to speak with those more experienced.
