Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Live-in Carer to provide personalised support and assistance to clients in their own homes. Responsibilities
- Provide personalised care to clients, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility.
- Administer medication accurately and monitor health conditions as required.
- Support clients with meal preparation, ensuring nutritional needs are met.
- Manage behaviour and provide emotional support, especially for clients with dementia or Alzheimer's.
- Assist with light housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.
- Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
- Support clients with mobility and transfer techniques, including heavy lifting if necessary.
- Drive clients to appointments or social activities when required, ensuring safe transportation.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or urgent health concerns using first aid skills when needed.
- Maintain detailed records of care provided and any changes in client condition.
Requirements
- Proven experience in assisted living, senior care, or home care environments.
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's, hospice care, and behaviour management strategies.
- Relevant qualifications such as first aid certification and caregiving training are highly desirable.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage medication schedules accurately.
- Valid driving licence preferred for transportation duties.
- Compassionate nature with strong communication skills and patience.
- Flexibility to work live-in shifts that may include overnight stays; ability to adapt to changing client needs.
- Must be organised, reliable, and committed to providing exceptional care in a respectful manner.
