Are you a Level 3 Engineering graduate looking to start a career in aircraft maintenance?
We are looking for motivated individuals to join our NEW for 2026 - Trainee Aircraft Mechanic Scheme, a structured, on-the-job training and development pathway designed to provide practical experience within a professional MRO aviation environment.
Please note: this is not an accredited apprenticeship programme. Instead, it is an internal training and development programme designed to support your progression from an entry-level position towards Junior Mechanic, with longer-term development pathway.
You will learn through a combination of practical, hands-on experience, structured training, mentoring and regular development assessments.
What you'll be doing
As a Trainee Aircraft Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to:
- Gain hands-on experience in both Line and Base Maintenance environments.
- Work alongside experienced and qualified Engineers.
- Develop practical aircraft maintenance skills and engineering knowledge.
- Build experience within a live MRO environment.
- Work towards completing a comprehensive logbook.
- Work towards relevant modules, as applicable to your development pathway.
- Participate in regular training and development activities.
- Take part in monthly progress assessments with Engineering Mentors and the Training Manager.
- Develop your skills and responsibilities progressively as you gain experience and demonstrate competence.
Training & development
The programme is expected to take approximately three years, with the aim of progressing successful candidates into a Junior Mechanic position within the business.
This is an opportunity to gain valuable practical aviation maintenance experience while building a long-term career within the industry.
About you
We are looking for someone who is:
- Educated to BTEC Level 3 in an Engineering discipline, or holds an equivalent two-year college diploma.
- Passionate about engineering and interested in developing a career in aircraft maintenance.
- Practical, hands-on and willing to learn.
- Reliable, conscientious and safety-focused.
- Able to follow technical instructions and procedures.
- Comfortable working as part of a team.
- Motivated to develop their skills and take on increasing responsibility.
- Available to start 5th October 2026.
Previous aircraft maintenance experience is not essential, as the programme is designed to provide structured on-the-job development.

Salary will commence at the applicable age-related National Minimum Wage rate and will increase progressively throughout the three-year training programme, subject to successful development and progression.
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
