Step Into Teaching is partnering with a specialist secondary SEN school in Hinckley to recruit a Graduate Teaching Assistant for the September 2026 academic year. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on classroom experience while supporting students aged 11-19 with a range of additional learning needs, preparing you for a rewarding future in education.
The Role
You'll work closely with teachers and specialist staff to support students both academically and pastorally.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing classroom support across a variety of curriculum subjects.
- Delivering targeted interventions on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
- Supporting students with Autism (ASC), SEMH, Moderate Learning Difficulties and communication needs.
- Encouraging independence, resilience and confidence.
- Assisting teachers with lesson delivery, classroom management and learning activities.
- Helping to create a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.

Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time | Monday-Friday | Term Time Only
Salary: £500-£530 per week

Candidate Requirements
- A 2:2 degree or above (all degree subjects considered).
- GCSE Grade 4 (C) or above in English and Maths.
- A genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enthusiastic, adaptable and resilient.
