Overview
We are seeking a friendly and professional Server to join our dynamic hospitality team. The ideal candidate will deliver exceptional guest service, ensuring a memorable dining experience for all patrons. Previous experience in a restaurant environment is preferred, along with a passion for food and beverage service. Duties
- Greet guests warmly and present menus with enthusiasm
- Take accurate orders and relay them efficiently to the kitchen and bar staff
- Serve food and beverages promptly while maintaining high standards of presentation and quality
- Ensure guest satisfaction by checking on tables regularly and addressing any concerns promptly
- Upsell menu items and specials to enhance guest experience and maximise sales opportunities
- Handle payments accurately using the POS system, including processing cash and card transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the dining area, including setting tables before service and clearing after
- Adhere to food safety regulations and hygiene standards at all times
- Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed, supporting kitchen staff during busy periods
- Demonstrate excellent time management skills to ensure smooth service flow during shifts
Skills
- Proven experience in hospitality or restaurant service is highly desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food handling
- Ability to perform basic maths accurately for billing and transactions
- Strong guest service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanour
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple tables efficiently
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Basic understanding of food preparation processes; culinary or kitchen experience is advantageous
- Excellent time management to ensure timely service delivery
- Upselling skills to promote menu items effectively and enhance guest satisfaction
- A proactive attitude with a team-oriented approach to deliver outstanding customer experiences
