Complete Material Handling is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Forklift Engineer to join our growing team. Working across customer sites, you will be responsible for the servicing, maintenance, repair, and inspection of a wide range of material handling equipment. As a customer-facing representative of the business, you will play a key role in ensuring equipment remains safe, reliable, and operational while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
Diagnostics & Repairs
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on a variety of material handling equipment, including gas, diesel, and electric forklifts.
- Attend breakdowns and carry out effective repairs to minimize customer downtime.
Planned Maintenance
- Perform scheduled servicing, preventative maintenance, and thorough examinations in line with manufacturer recommendations and industry standards.
- Conduct safety inspections and identify potential issues before they develop into major faults.
Customer Support
- Provide professional technical support and advice to customers on equipment operation and maintenance.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers through excellent service delivery.
Reporting & Administration
- Complete service reports, inspection records, timesheets, and parts requisitions accurately and promptly.
- Maintain clear communication with the service team regarding job status, parts requirements, and customer feedback.
Vehicle & Equipment Management
- Maintain company service vehicle stock levels and ensure tools and equipment are kept in good working order.
- Adhere to all company health and safety policies while working on customer premises.
What We Are Looking ForExperience
- Proven experience as a Forklift Engineer, Field Service Engineer, Plant Mechanic, Agricultural Engineer, Heavy Vehicle Technician, or similar role.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, pneumatics, internal combustion engines, and 24V–80V electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex mechanical and electrical faults independently.
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Plant Maintenance, Mechanical Engineering, Vehicle Maintenance, or a related discipline is highly desirable.
- Full UK driving licence is essential.

Pay: £34,000.00-£40,000.00 per year
