Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and professional Mobile Phlebotomist to join our healthcare team in Inverness,. This role involves travelling to various patient locations to perform blood collection and related procedures with precision and care. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, excellent patient communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and aseptic techniques. Responsibilities
- Conduct blood draws and specimen collection from patients at various locations, including homes, clinics, and community sites.
- Ensure all samples are correctly labelled, documented, and transported according to laboratory protocols.
- Maintain strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control procedures during all procedures.
- Provide compassionate patient care, explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns or questions.
- Prepare and maintain medical equipment, ensuring it is clean, sterilised, and in proper working order.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Keep detailed records of all procedures performed, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure seamless patient service delivery across different locations.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in phlebotomy within a hospital or clinical environment.
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology.
- Demonstrated competence in aseptic technique and laboratory procedures.
- Certification or training in phlebotomy recognised by relevant health authorities is preferred.
- Experience with catheterisation and basic life support (BLS) certification is advantageous.
- Familiarity with paediatric blood collection techniques is desirable.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage time efficiently across multiple locations.
- Valid driving licence and willingness to travel extensively within the Inverness area.
