About Us
K&C Joinery Ltd is an established kitchen installation, joinery and home improvement company delivering high-quality residential projects throughout Oxfordshire and the surrounding areas.
As our workload and number of active projects continue to grow, we're looking for a reliable and hardworking Full-Time Driver & Site Support Operative to provide day-to-day logistical support to our kitchen fitting and trades teams.
This is a varied, hands-on role that will involve travelling between customer sites, collecting and disposing of kitchen fitting rubbish and general site rubbish, transporting items when required and providing practical assistance to our teams throughout the working day.
The Role
We're looking for someone dependable, organised and comfortable spending much of their working day on the road.
You'll travel between K&C Joinery projects and other required locations, helping keep our sites organised and our tradespeople working efficiently.
A key part of the role will involve visiting kitchen installation and renovation projects to collect packaging, old kitchen materials and other site rubbish, before transporting it to the appropriate disposal location.
You'll also provide general assistance where required, which may include collecting materials, delivering items between sites and helping our fitting teams with straightforward non-skilled tasks.
You must have your own suitable van and a full UK Driving Licence to be considered for this position.
Responsibilities
Your day-to-day responsibilities may include:
- Driving between K&C Joinery customer sites
- Collecting kitchen fitting rubbish and general site rubbish
- Loading and unloading your van
- Transporting rubbish to appropriate disposal facilities
- Collecting materials, supplies and other items when required
- Delivering materials and equipment to active projects
- Moving items between sites
- Assisting kitchen fitters and other trades with general tasks
- Helping keep customer sites clean, tidy and organised
- Removing packaging following kitchen deliveries and installations
- Supporting the team with day-to-day logistical requirements
- Communicating with the office and site teams regarding collections and deliveries
- Planning journeys efficiently between locations
- Ensuring collections and deliveries are completed within agreed timescales
- Representing K&C Joinery professionally when attending customer properties
Essential Requirements
To be considered for this position, you must:
- Hold a full and valid UK Driving Licence
- Have your own reliable and suitable van
- Be confident driving regularly throughout the working day
- Be physically capable of loading, unloading and moving materials and rubbish
- Be reliable and punctual
- Have a strong work ethic
- Be comfortable working independently
- Be willing to assist with general site tasks where required
- Be organised and able to manage multiple collections and deliveries
- Have good communication skills
- Be polite and professional when dealing with customers
- Take care when working within and around customer properties
- Have the right to work in the UK
Previous experience within construction, kitchen fitting, property maintenance, removals, delivery driving or a similar environment would be advantageous, but is not essential for the right person.
What We're Looking For
This role would suit someone who enjoys being out and about rather than working from one location every day.
We're looking for someone who can be trusted to receive a list of jobs or locations, organise their day sensibly and make sure everything gets completed.
Reliability is extremely important. Our kitchen fitters and tradespeople rely on rubbish being removed and materials arriving when required so that projects can continue efficiently.
You'll also regularly attend customers' homes on behalf of K&C Joinery, so we expect you to be friendly, respectful and professional at all times.
This isn't purely a driving position. There will be physical work involved, including loading and unloading the van, collecting site rubbish and helping the wider team with general tasks when required.
