Outline of role
We are seeking an experienced Qualifying Supervisor to support the delivery, testing, commissioning and close-out of electrical installations across multiple projects. Acting as the key point of contact for electrical compliance, testing and defect management, you will work closely with Project Managers, contractors and site teams to ensure works are completed safely, to the highest quality standards, and in accordance with current NICEIC and BS7671 requirements.
Main responsibilities
- Act as the lead contact for electrical testing and compliance across live projects and those within the defects liability period.
- Oversee the completion of electrical testing, commissioning, certification and project handovers.
- Manage and maintain electrical testing, calibration and PAT testing records and trackers.
- Monitor project progress and ensure test certificates are issued within required timescales.
- Carry out regular site visits to assess installation quality, testing programmes and commissioning activities.
- Support Project Managers with quality assurance inspections and compliance requirements.
- Manage and coordinate subcontractors and suppliers undertaking testing, maintenance and defect rectification works.
- Ensure all defect works are completed safely and are supported by approved risk assessments and method statements.
- Maintain weekly defect tracking schedules and provide regular progress updates to management teams.
- Attend meetings with project teams, contractors and clients to resolve issues and support successful project delivery.
- Promote compliance with company Health & Safety, Quality Assurance and Environmental policies.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with colleagues, customers and external stakeholders.
Knowledge and experience required
- Previous experience in a Qualifying Supervisor, Approved Electrician, Testing & Inspection or similar electrical compliance role.
- Strong understanding of electrical installation, testing, commissioning and defect management processes.
- Experience working on commercial construction or building services projects.
- Knowledge of NICEIC requirements and current electrical regulations.
- Experience managing multiple projects and working with subcontractors and site teams.
- Good understanding of Health & Safety legislation and safe working practices.
- Experience maintaining project documentation, trackers and compliance records.

Qualifications
- 18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS7671)
- City & Guilds 2394 & 2395 / 2391 Testing & Inspection
- NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation, City & Guilds 2360 Part 1 & 2, or equivalent
- ECS/CSCS Gold Card
