About the Role
We are looking for a reliable and hardworking Yard Operative / Relief Driver to join our team. This is a varied role involving the day-to-day running of the yard, vehicle loading and unloading, and providing driving cover when required.
Key Responsibilities - Yard Operative Duties
- Loading and unloading vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Keeping the yard clean, tidy, and safe at all times.
- Picking and sorting recycling waste.
- Conducting routine equipment and vehicle checks.
- Following all health and safety procedures.
Relief Driver Duties
- Covering waste collection runs during holidays, sickness, and peak periods.
- Carrying out daily vehicle checks and reporting defects.
- Providing excellent customer service at collection locations.
Requirements
- Experience with diggers and telehandlers preferred.
- Full UK driving licence (essential).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling duties.
