JOB SUMMARY:
As a Home Care Transport Driver, you will be responsible for transporting our home care professionals safely and punctually between service users' homes.
You will work directly with the Senior Community Care Coordinator, who will be your primary point of contact and will coordinate your daily transport requirements.
The role requires excellent timekeeping, reliability, safe driving and effective communication. You will need to follow the daily transport schedule while remaining responsive to changes in the care rota and communicating any issues promptly to the Senior Community Care Coordinator.
Your role will directly contribute to ensuring that our care professionals arrive at service users' homes safely, on time and ready to provide care.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Transportation
- Safely transport Healthcare Assistants and Complex Care Nurses between service users' homes.
- Collect staff from agreed locations and transport them to their scheduled care visits.
- Collect staff following completion of their visits and transport them to their next scheduled location.
- Follow the daily transport schedule provided by the Senior Community Care Coordinator.
- Ensure staff arrive at service users' homes safely and on time.
- Plan journeys appropriately, allowing sufficient time for traffic, road conditions and unforeseen delays.
- Use appropriate navigation systems where necessary to identify efficient and safe routes.
- Ensure staff are transported in a safe, professional and respectful manner.
Communication with the Senior Community Care Coordinator
You will be expected to:
- Communicate directly with the Senior Community Care Coordinator throughout the working day where required.
- Receive and follow daily transport instructions and schedules.
- Immediately notify the Senior Community Care Coordinator of significant traffic delays or circumstances that may affect a staff member's arrival time.
- Report accidents, breakdowns, vehicle defects or other incidents immediately.
- Inform the Senior Community Care Coordinator if a Healthcare Assistant or Complex Care Nurse cannot be collected or transported as scheduled.
- Report difficulties locating service users' homes or accessing scheduled destinations.
- Communicate promptly regarding any changes to the planned route or transport schedule.
- Follow reasonable instructions issued by the Senior Community Care Coordinator regarding the safe and efficient transportation of staff.
- Keep the Senior Community Care Coordinator informed of any matter that could affect the delivery of scheduled care visits.
Vehicle and Safety Responsibilities
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean, safe and roadworthy condition.
- Carry out required vehicle safety checks.
- Report vehicle defects immediately.
- Maintain appropriate mileage and journey records where required.
- Comply with all UK road traffic laws.
- Drive safely and responsibly at all times.
- Comply with TSF Healthcare Solutions' health and safety, driving and operational procedures.
- Ensure the vehicle is suitable and appropriately insured for work-related journeys where an own vehicle is used.
Professional Responsibilities
- Maintain confidentiality when working around service users, their families and care professionals.
- Treat Healthcare Assistants, Complex Care Nurses, service users and their families with dignity and respect.
- Maintain a professional and courteous manner at all times.
- Respect the privacy of service users and their homes.
- Maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- Represent TSF Healthcare Solutions professionally when driving within the community.

Essential Requirements
- Full UK driving licence.
- Safe and responsible approach to driving.

- Good knowledge of Sunderland and surrounding areas.
- Ability to follow routes, schedules and instructions accurately.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- Reliable and professional approach to work.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Willingness to complete all required pre-employment checks.
Pay: £13.50 per hour
