Global Substation Solutions (GSS) is looking for an experienced Planner to support a growing portfolio of utility and infrastructure projects. The role is ideally suited to someone with strong Primavera P6 experience and a good understanding of NEC4 project environments.
Experience with National Grid, SPEN, DNOs or other utilities would be highly advantageous. Candidates from gas, water or other infrastructure sectors will also be considered where they have worked in NEC contract environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain and manage detailed project programmes using Primavera P6.
- Produce tender, baseline, construction, commissioning and recovery programmes as required.
- Work closely with project managers, engineers, commercial teams and delivery teams to capture progress and programme risk.
- Monitor critical path, programme movement, constraints, delays and change impacts.
- Support NEC4 contract administration, including programme submissions, compensation event assessments and extension of time considerations.
- Prepare clear programme reports, lookaheads and progress updates for internal and client meetings.
- Use Microsoft Project where required for simpler schedules or client-specific reporting.
Experience & Skills
- Strong Primavera P6 experience is essential.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Project is desirable.
- Experience working under NEC4 contracts or similar structured contract environments.
- Background in utilities, power, transmission and distribution, gas, water, infrastructure or other NEC-based project sectors.
- Ability to understand project logic, sequencing, constraints, interfaces and delivery risk.
- Confident communicator with the ability to challenge, support and work collaboratively with project teams.
