Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Care Assistant, and also have availability to take on Bank Care Assistants who will work as and when required to cover shifts due to sickness absence or annual leave. This role is essential in providing high-quality care to residents in a care home setting. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of care plans, and the ability to provide high quality hands on care to our residents. This position requires a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for our residents through attentive and personalised care.
Duties
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene and meeting nutritional needs.
- Develop and implement individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals.
- Maintain accurate records of resident progress and any changes in their condition.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a warm and welcoming environment.
- Ensure the cleanliness and safety of the care home by adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and team members to ensure continuity of care.
- Utilise IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes.
Requirements
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential.
- Proficiency in English is necessary for effective communication with residents and staff.
- IT skills for maintaining records and using care management software, specifically PCS.
- Excellent communication skills to engage with residents, families, and colleagues effectively.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to improve the lives of others.
- Ability to work flexibly within a team environment while also being self-motivated.
- Flexibility to cover shifts as required and sometimes at short notice.
