The Role
The GP Rating will provide support for the safe & efficient running of the vessel as directed by the Master.
The contract will be to support The Ministry of Defence around the coast of the UK delivering various aspects of marine training including Aircrew Marine Survival Training, Target Towing and Range Clearance duties to support the armed forces.
Key Responsibilities
- Safety of the ship including acting as a look out in accordance with the MCA Regulations
- To ensure that the cleaning and maintenance of all areas of the vessel are adequately completed.
- Assisting engineering staff as required
- Ensuring the completion and correct reporting of planned maintenance tasks as directed by mate or engineer
- Anchoring work and mooring
- To be competent in the use of all deck equipment (crane, RIB, anchor windlass etc.)
The Candidate
- Seagoing experience in a demanding environment
- Knowledge of the technical operation of the installations of designated equipment
- RYA Powerboat Level 2
- ENG1 Medical
- Approved Engine Course 1
- Training according to STCW Regulations
- Complete MOD security clearance (must be resident in the UK for a minimum of 3 years)
