Revival House wishes to appoint an experienced Discipleship and Bible Training Minister.
The Head of Discipleship & Training is a senior pastoral leadership position responsible for overseeing the spiritual formation, biblical teaching, discipleship pathway, leadership development, and ministerial training of members within Revival House Church.
Purpose of the Role
The purpose of the role is to ensure that individuals at every stage of their Christian journey are equipped to grow in biblical knowledge, mature in their faith, develop Christ-like character, discover their spiritual gifts, and become effective disciples and leaders who actively serve both the church and the wider community.
Due to the continued growth of the church and the operation of ministry activities, Revival House Church requires a full-time Head of Discipleship & Training. The person primary responsibility is to oversee the discipleship and leadership development programme in the church working collaboratively under the overall leadership and direction of the Senior Pastor to ensure consistency in doctrine, ministry standards, and the church’s vision.
This post is key in enabling growth in the ministry and mission of Revival House to make disciples who are transformed by the gospel and living out God’s mission in their lives. We are looking for a Discipleship Pastor who will dedicate his life to pursuing our mission as a key member of a strong and healthy staff.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Head of Discipleship & Training will:
- Lead and oversee the church’s discipleship strategy, ensuring members are spiritually nurtured from new believers through to mature Christian leadership.
- Develop, coordinate, and deliver structured biblical teaching programmes, discipleship courses, leadership development programmes, and ministry training initiatives.
- Teach and preach during church services, Bible studies, leadership meetings, conferences, seminars, and discipleship classes.
- Provide pastoral care, mentoring, spiritual counselling, and biblical guidance to church members, ministry leaders, volunteers, and emerging leaders.
- Develop teaching resources, discipleship materials, and ministry training curricula that reflect the church’s doctrinal beliefs, vision, and values.
- Supervise and support discipleship group leaders, Bible study facilitators, ministry mentors, and training coordinators.
- Identify, mentor, and equip future ministry leaders through structured leadership development and succession planning.
- Coordinate baptism preparation classes, membership courses, new believers’ programmes, and ongoing spiritual growth pathways.
- Support evangelism by ensuring new believers are effectively integrated into the life of the church through structured follow-up and discipleship.
- Work collaboratively with other ministry departments, including Youth Ministry, Family Ministry, Worship Ministry, Evangelism, Community Outreach, and Pastoral Care, to ensure a unified approach to spiritual development.
- Lead prayer meetings, devotional gatherings, leadership development sessions, and ministry training events.
- Provide theological guidance to ministry leaders and ensure that all teaching programmes remain consistent with Pentecostal doctrine and the church’s Statement of Faith.
- Monitor the effectiveness of discipleship programmes, evaluate participation and spiritual growth, and recommend improvements where appropriate.
- Represent the church at ministry meetings, conferences, leadership forums, and other ministry engagements as required.
- Assist the Senior Pastor in providing pastoral leadership, spiritual oversight, and the continued development and expansion of the church’s ministry.

- A Passion for Discipleship. Must possess a clear conviction that all God’s people are to make disciples and seek to fulfil the great commission. Expertise in current discipleship methods and models.
- A Missionary Heart. Loves to engage lost people with the gospel. Must have the ability to train others to share their faith.
- A Team Player. Maintain a humble spirit and commitment to teamwork with other pastors, staff, and church members.
- Maintains appropriate discretion and confidentiality regarding personal information of the people of church.
- Exceptional degree of professionalism and the ability to work in a demanding environment.
- Ability to prioritise and make informed decisions in a religious environment.
- Ability to multi-task, sound decision making, self-motivated.
- Equally the post-holder will need confidence and proven organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
TERMS OF APPOINTMENT
- 3 years’ experience working in a church setting as a committed worker or volunteer in Discipleship and Bible Training.
- Qualification degree in Biblical Studies or ministry related field
- Must be able to communicate in English & Swahili both in speaking & writing.
- Fixed Term contract of 3 years, with a probation period of 6 months.
- Available to start immediately.
- A full enhanced DBS check will be carried out prior to appointment.
