Transcend UK is currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Class 2 Driver to join us in Benfleet, Essex.
This is an excellent opportunity for a reliable and professional driver looking for a Monday to Friday position with consistent work, early morning starts, weekly pay.
Newly qualified (new pass) drivers are encouraged to apply, as full support will be provided for the right candidate.
The Role
You will be delivering a range of packaging products to customers across Essex, London and the surrounding areas. Deliveries will include commercial businesses, warehouses, manufacturing facilities and factories where packaging products are required for production and distribution.
This role involves a mixture of local and regional deliveries with no overnight stays.
Start Time: 06:00am
Working Days: Monday to Friday
Duties Include
- Safely delivering packaging products to customer sites.
- Carrying out daily vehicle walk-round safety checks.
- Loading and unloading palletised deliveries where required.
- Using an electric pump truck to move palletised goods.
- Obtaining proof of delivery and completing delivery paperwork.
- Providing excellent customer service.
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness and reporting defects.
- Complying with Drivers' Hours Regulations and Road Traffic legislation.
- Communicating professionally with customers and the transport office.
Manual Handling
This role will involve the use of an electric pump truck to manoeuvre palletised goods.
At many delivery locations, the customer's forklift driver will unload the vehicle; however, drivers should be prepared to assist with unloading using the pump truck where required.
What We're Looking For
Applicants must have:
- Valid UK Category C (Class 2) Driving Licence.
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card.
- A positive and professional attitude.
- Good communication skills.
- A strong work ethic and reliability.
- A commitment to safe and legal driving.
Previous Class 2 experience is desirable but not essential.
