The Role
We're looking for a hands-on R&D Engineer to join our small engineering team. You'll be working alongside our lead engineers on the design, prototyping, and development of camera enclosures, mounting hardware, and associated mechanical assemblies. This is a practical role you'll be expected to get stuck in with design work, prototyping, and testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop camera enclosures and mounting systems using CAD software
- Prototype parts using 3D printing (FDM/MJF) and prepare designs for manufacture
- Assist with testing and resolving issues such as weatherproofing, thermal management, and IP rating compliance.
- Support PCB integration and help with fitting electronics into enclosure designs
- Liaise with external suppliers and manufacturers
- Carry out general workshop tasks including assembly, test fitting, and quality checks
Essential Skills
- Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar)
- C++, Python or similar
- Understanding of mechanical design principles and materials
- Hands-on experience with 3D printing
- Ability to read and produce technical drawings
- Understanding of IP-rated enclosure design (gaskets, sealing, ventilation)
- Good problem-solving skills and a practical, hands-on approach
- Willingness to learn and work across different projects

Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
