Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Worker to support young people in our community programmes. The successful candidate will play a vital role in fostering positive development, providing mentorship, and creating a safe and engaging environment for children and teenagers. Duties
- Plan and deliver engaging activities tailored to the interests and needs of young people, promoting personal growth and social skills.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to children and teenagers, acting as a positive role model.
- Support behavioural management strategies to ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Collaborate with families, schools, and other organisations to support the holistic development of young individuals.
- Assist in organising events, workshops, and recreational activities that encourage participation and skill-building.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, behaviour, and progress for programme evaluation purposes.
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of all participants by adhering to safeguarding policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience in teaching, youth work, or working with children is highly desirable.
- Strong mentoring skills with the ability to motivate and inspire young people.
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) is advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with an empathetic approach.
- Organised with the ability to plan activities effectively whilst managing multiple responsibilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding principles and promoting inclusive practices.
- Relevant qualifications or training in youth work or education are preferred but not mandatory.

Additional duties include setting up rooms for private hire, cleaning, and anything else that may arise. Hours are varied, reflecting the adhoc use of the building. Some weeks there may not be any available hours, but during school holidays there are extra hours available as part of our HAF programme.
Employment is subject to having a clear Enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
Pay: £14.00-£17.00 per hour
