Preferred location for potential candidates are Redditch and Bromsgrove. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated SEN Passenger Assistant to join our team, committed to supporting children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) during their journeys to and from school or activity centers. In this vital role, you will ensure the safety, comfort, and well-being of passengers with diverse needs, including those requiring assistance with mobility, behavior management, and personal care. Your energetic approach will help create a positive environment that promotes independence and confidence for every passenger. Responsibilities
- Assist passengers with mobility needs, including helping them board and alight safely from vehicles
- Provide personalized support for children and young adults with SEN, including behavioral management and emotional reassurance
- Ensure the safety of all passengers during transit by following established safety procedures and protocols
- Administer basic first aid when necessary and manage medication administration in accordance with care plans
- Maintain clear communication with drivers, parents, and care teams to report any concerns or incidents promptly
- Assist with physical support for passengers requiring additional help during transfers or movement
Skills
- Experience working in environments with individuals who have SEN or disabilities
- understanding of patient care,
- First aid certification, and emergency response procedures
- Ability to drive safely and confidently; a valid driving license is preferred but not essential.
- Compassionate caregiving skills with a focus on senior care, hospice care, or childcare experience
- Excellent communication skills to effectively support passengers’ emotional and physical needs
