About the role
Joining our busy Trade Counter (Internal Sales) team, you will play a key part in delivering an exceptional customer experience. This is a varied and customer‑focused position where accuracy, communication, and service are at the heart of what you do.
You will often be the first point of contact for our customers, whether in person, over the phone, or via email, ensuring they receive the right information, the right products, and a smooth, professional experience.
While the core of the role is Trade Counter service and administration, you will also provide light warehouse support when required to help maintain an efficient operation.
Your responsibilities will include Customer Service & Trade Counter
- Providing excellent face‑to‑face and telephone service to trade customers.
- Offering informed product advice using up‑to‑date knowledge.
- Preparing, processing, and following up quotations promptly and accurately.
- Promoting current deals, add‑ons, and new products to maximise sales.
- Ensuring the Trade Counter is clean, well‑stocked, and professionally presented.
- Handling cash and operating tills in line with company procedures.
Administration (non exhaustive)
- Maintaining accurate customer records, account notes, and order details.
- Managing email and telephone enquiries efficiently and professionally.
- Supporting credit control with account queries and customer communication.
- Preparing and processing documents such as pick lists, PODs, and other depot administration tasks (non‑exhaustive).
- Assisting with stock take paperwork and data entry to ensure accurate inventory records.
Operational Support
- Supporting other departments when needed to ensure excellent customer service.
- Assisting with warehouse duties such as picking, loading, and unloading when required.
- Maintaining a clean and safe working environment across Trade Counter, warehouse areas and communal areas.
About you
- Previous experience in a Trade Counter, retail, and/or administrative environment.
- Excellent customer service skills and a proactive, problem‑solving attitude.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to work to deadlines.
- Computer literate, with confidence using MS Office and internal systems.
- Good command of written and spoken English.

Other information
- Working hours: Monday–Friday, 07:30–16:30, plus 1 in 4 Saturdays, 08:00–11:00 (paid at time and a half).
- Permanent, full‑time position.

Pay: Up to £26,977.60 per year
