We require a Procurement Specialist to join our team and play a key role in the delivery and support of the growth in our business. The key requirement of this role is to ensure that the O&P UK Projects and the Assets always have security of contracted services to support the ongoing Maintenance Programme, TAR programme & the site Capex demand.
Key accountabilities
- Developing procurement strategies through engaging relevant stakeholders and award of engineering services contracts to support the INEOS business that will achieve best value for the business, including partnering with global INEOS Procurement to maximise group leverage possibilities;
- Ensuring that security of supply for services is maintained safely, to the correct technical specification and on schedule to meet operational requirements; and providing expert advice on procurement related risks, including in depth market knowledge both commercial and technical, to all INEOS procurement customers;
- Leading negotiations with suppliers to secure best commercial terms based on agreed specifications and demand to ensure best value for money;
- Ability to review / assist detailed cost submissions and challenge cost submissions to ensure final account valuations match the contract intent, when required; whilst negotiating claims and application of liabilities in the event of dispute relating to service provision;
- Identifying and recommending new suppliers to the businesses where they can demonstrate they offer a commercial and/or technical advantage to INEOS O&P UK.
- Have established procurement / commercial / contractual experience in a large complex manufacturing environment across a suite of business-critical services.
- Have experience in at least 2 of the following commodities: Mechanical services, Scaffolding Insulation Painting services, Industrial Cleaning services, Electrical & Instrumentation services, Engineering services, Tankage work and Construction services.
- Have established negotiation skills and techniques with a good understanding of cost drivers on contracts to demonstrate transparency and overall value.
- Have a good commercial understanding of external markets and cost drivers that may impact site services with ability to establish and promote approach to market strategies to mitigate unnecessary cost within the supply chain.
- Be a self-starter and comfortable with communications between engineers, planners, project managers, procurement specialists and suppliers.
- Have a good working knowledge and skills of MS Office tools including Excel, Word etc.
- MCIPS qualified or studying towards / equivalent chartered membership.
- Commercial degree.
- QS qualified.
