ACPD SERVICES LTD is an industrial automation company that provides innovative automated software and hardware solutions for manufacturing environments. We offer a variety of design services, including mechanical and electrical design, which can be either individual components or part of a turnkey project.
The company is currently looking for 1 x Controls Engineer (Automation Engineer, PLC engineer, Panel Assembler) (40 hours per week + occasional overtime) to perform various manufacturing and electrical tasks. You will work as part of a team to design, develop, test, and commission control systems, ensure that they meet client requirements, and provide ongoing support for the systems once they are operational. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate or early career professional who is passionate about automation and has strong problem-solving skills.
Our premises are based in St Ives (Cambridgeshire) PE27.
Flexible start and finish times are negotiable.
Tasks
- Participate in design, development and deploy of new automation solutions
- Maintain and support existing automations, resolving incidents and problems
- Support in programming, operating, maintaining, and upgrading PLCs, HMIs, and communication network infrastructure
- Contributing to design, delivery and commissioning of manufacturing capability
- Panel Building
- PCB assembly
- Maintain stock levels within the panel build shop
- Electrical Wiring and Cabinets assembly
- Be part of the onsite installation and commissioning team if required, this will possibly include carrying out modifications to control panels, on site fault finding and rectification works
Skills
- PLC hardware and programming
- Electrical and control system design
- Fault finding and problem solving skills
- Soldering
- Professional experience in an electrical or controls engineering environment, ideally in manufacturing or automation sectors.
