Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and personable Full Time Sales Assistant to join our retail team. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills, organisational abilities, and a passion for delivering outstanding customer service. The successful applicant will be responsible for assisting customers, promoting products, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily sales activities.
Responsibilities
- Welcome customers warmly and provide exceptional service to enhance their shopping experience
- Assist customers with product selection, providing knowledgeable advice on features and benefits
- Maintain visual merchandising standards to ensure attractive product displays
- Upsell products and promotional offers to maximise sales opportunities
- Process transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system, including handling cash and card payments
- Manage stock levels, organise stockroom and ensure shelves are well-stocked and tidy
- Answer customer enquiries via phone or in person with professionalism and courtesy
- Organise and prioritise tasks effectively to meet daily sales targets and deadlines
- Support the team during busy periods by sharing responsibilities and maintaining organisational efficiency
Qualifications
- Proven experience in retail or customer service roles is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage confidently with diverse customers
- Organised with excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to assist in maintaining appealing displays
- Good phone etiquette and organisational skills for managing customer interactions professionally
- Ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a friendly demeanour
