Salary: £28,600 per year
AutoTyne is looking for an experienced Vehicle Valeter / Detailer to join our growing team at our Middlesbrough site.
This is not simply a basic wash-and-vacancy role. We are looking for someone who takes genuine pride in vehicle presentation and can prepare cars to a high retail standard. Ideally, you will have previous detailing experience and be confident using a machine polisher to remove light scratches, swirl marks and other paint imperfections.
You will play an important part in ensuring our vehicles and forecourt always look their best.
Key Responsibilities
- Fully valeting and detailing vehicles ready for sale
- Machine polishing vehicles to improve paintwork and presentation
- Removing light scratches, swirl marks and minor paint imperfections
- Deep-cleaning vehicle interiors, including upholstery, carpets and trim
- Cleaning wheels, glass, engine bays and exterior trim
- Applying appropriate finishing products, waxes and protective coatings
- Carrying out final presentation checks before vehicles are photographed or handed over
- Maintaining high standards across the forecourt and customer-facing areas
- Keeping the site tidy, organised and free from litter
- Ensuring valeting equipment, chemicals and working areas are properly maintained
- Helping move and organise vehicles around the site when required
- Reporting any damage or presentation issues to management
What We Are Looking For
- Previous professional valeting or vehicle detailing experience
- Experience using a machine polisher
- A strong eye for detail and pride in producing high-quality work
- The ability to work independently and manage your own workload
- A reliable, hardworking and positive attitude
- Good organisation and timekeeping
- A full UK driving licence
- The ability to work outdoors and carry out physically active duties
Experience in paint correction, ceramic coatings, wet sanding or other advanced detailing techniques would be beneficial, although not essential.
