GMP Recruitment are proud to partner with a well-established and successful manufacturing business based in Lydney, Gloucestershire. We are recruiting on their behalf for a Trainee or Experienced Welder to join their production team on a Temp to Perm basis.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop their welding skills and build a long-term career within a busy manufacturing environment. Previous welding or fabrication experience would be advantageous, although candidates with the right attitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.
Working Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 1:30pm
- Full-time hours
- Overtime available
The successful candidate will be offered £13.96 per hour, rising to £17.78 per hour depending on experience and skill level.
Trainee Welder Main Duties:
- Carry out welding and fabrication work following training and instruction.
- Work from engineering drawings and production specifications.
- Prepare materials and components ready for welding.
- Use welding equipment and associated hand tools safely.
- Inspect completed welds to ensure they meet required quality standards.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and safe working area.
- Follow all Health & Safety and production procedures.
- Work as part of a team to meet production requirements.
Trainee Welder Experience Needed:
- Previous welding or fabrication experience would be advantageous. (Desirable)
- Practical or mechanical experience. (Desirable)
- Ability to read engineering drawings would be advantageous. (Desirable)
- Good attention to detail and commitment to quality. (Essential)
- Good practical and manual skills. (Essential)
- Reliable, hardworking and keen to learn. (Essential)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team. (Essential)
- Willingness to develop welding and fabrication skills. (Essential)
