Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Home Delivery Drivers to join our team. In this vital role, you will be responsible for delivering electrical products safely and efficiently to our customers’ homes. The ideal candidate will possess strong driving skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience handling deliveries in a fast-paced environment. This position offers an opportunity to contribute directly to customer satisfaction while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism.
The Role
- A basic salary with an uncapped bonus package with the OTE £17.00+ p/h
- Average weekly hours of 30 – 45 with an average of 20 deliveries per day
- Fixed weekly rota in advance
- Part of a 2-man team with shared driving
- Fully optimised daily routes prepared for you in advance
- Full product and basic installation training and personal development
Responsibilities
- Safely operate delivery vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies
- Load, unload, and organize products efficiently for delivery
- Deliver orders accurately and on time to customers’ residences
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding delivery times and any potential delays
- Handle heavy lifting of electrical appliances and equipment with proper technique
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and obtain customer signatures when required
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Follow safety protocols at all times to ensure personal and team safety
- Collaborate with office staff to coordinate deliveries and inventory management
Experience
- At least 5 years driving experience is essential
- Prior experience as a delivery driver or in commercial driving preferred
- Familiarity with warehouse operations and handling heavy lifting tasks
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; <PERSON> driver certification is advantageous
- Experience in delivery driver roles involving electrical or retail products is a plus
- Knowledge of local routes and navigation tools for efficient deliveries
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including heavy lifting and prolonged periods of driving
