Cook – Dolanog Residential Care Home, Rhyl
£12.90 per hour Full‑time Permanent
We’re looking for a warm, reliable Cook to join our friendly team at Dolanog Residential Care Home. If you enjoy preparing homely, nutritious meals and want a role where your cooking genuinely makes a difference to people’s daily lives, this could be a great fit.
What the role offers
- Stable daytime hours: 8am–5pm
- Rolling rota: average 4 days per week, including alternate weekends

You’ll be preparing traditional, comforting meals for our residents, taking into account dietary needs and personal preferences. You’ll work closely with our kitchen assistant and care team to ensure mealtimes are enjoyable and well‑organised.
About you
- At least 1 year of cooking experience (care‑home experience welcome but not essential)
- Enjoys cooking for others and takes pride in presentation
- Friendly, patient, and able to work independently
- Understands basic food hygiene and kitchen safety (training provided)
Main responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious meals
- Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety
- Support menu planning with management
- Rotate stock and complete kitchen paperwork
- Work in line with Food Hygiene, COSHH and Environmental Health regulations
- Interact with residents in a warm, respectful manner
- Attend training, meetings and supervisions as required
Requirements

- Completion of Food Hygiene training (provided)
