We’re looking for a driven Building Manager (Minor Works) to lead the delivery and provide governance and oversight of planned and minor building works across the non-housing portfolio.
What you’ll do
Lead a multi-disciplinary team of property professionals delivering circa £10m of maintenance projects annually.
Plan, manage and monitor delivery of minor works programmes across a diverse property portfolio.
Ensure projects and safe and compliant with full compliance with building regulations, CDM duty holder responsibilities and health & safety standards.
Manage project budgets & timelines and contractor performance to drive quality and value for money.
Provide expert technical advice for client departments and resolve complex building, electrical and mechanical maintenance issues.
Build strong relationships with clients, framework contractors, and internal and external stakeholders.
Support and lead a team (4 direct reports + a team of approximately 20 staff including 2 graduates).
What you’ll bring
A strong background in construction and project management.
Proven experience of managing projects, budgets and contracts across numerous sites over a diverse building portfolio.
Confident leadership skills with the ability to drive performance and inspire teams.
Commercial and political awareness and a focus on efficient, high quality safe delivery.
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across internal teams, external stakeholders, framework contractors and industry partners.
