Due to our continued success and recent expansion, we are looking to recruit an Area Sales Manager in the South-East to join our successful, stable and growing family-run company. This role provides an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious sales professional who is looking to develop their career within a growing and forward-thinking family-run company.
Established in 1932, Northern Energy Gas Ltd has expanded across the South West of England, delivering LPG to domestic and commercial customers.
We are looking for a proactive and confident individual who is motivated by targets and driven to deliver results. The successful applicant will be customer-focused with first-class communication and relationship-building skills, excellent personal presentation and the ability to work independently.
Key Objectives
This role offers significant opportunity for an ambitious sales professional looking to develop their career within a growing and forward-thinking family-run company.
You will drive the growth of new business by representing Northern Energy Gas Ltd across the GU postcode area and surrounding locations, with a view to expanding the business through increased market share, generating high-quality leads, and increasing brand awareness.
You will seek out and engage with all LPG (liquid petroleum gas) users, whether using bulk or cylinder supply, to promote our company and services. You will build rapport with potential customers through excellent communication skills, gather relevant information, and promote our products and services. You will leave information packs for customers you speak with, as well as at properties where no one is home, and record address details where LPG tanks can be seen, to generate high-quality new domestic and commercial business for the LPG division.
You will demonstrate a strong work ethic, strive to achieve agreed KPIs in a determined, focused, and target-driven manner and report progress to Head Office regularly.
Operational Duties
· To plan your route each day to ensure maximum efficiency in terms of time, mileage, and leads obtained.
· To proactively canvass designated areas to increase brand awareness, promote our services, and identify LPG users. Obtain details of LPG usage, full contact information (including telephone number and email address), and permission for follow-up contact where appropriate. In addition, record the customer's current supplier and contract expiry date where applicable.
· To leave information packs at properties where no one is present but one or more LPG tanks are visible, and record the property address.
· To accurately record all lead details in an Excel spreadsheet and email them to Head Office daily.
· To research leads using available systems to establish full details and check whether they are registered with the Telephone Preference Service (TPS). Set up new prospect records and schedule appropriate follow-up activities within the CODAS system.
· To follow up with prospects by telephone and email to discuss their fuel requirements, build relationships, and convert opportunities into sales.
· To visit customers' properties or sites to carry out a technical site survey, ensure the tank is compliant, and complete the relevant paperwork to finalise the sale.
· To ensure sufficient stationery is available for canvassing activities and liaise with Head Office when additional stock is required.
· To communicate regularly with your manager and Head Office, attend occasional meetings, participate in training, and take part in performance reviews against agreed KPIs.
