Summary
We are seeking a Transport General Manager to lead our transportation operations in Aberdeenshire. This pivotal role involves overseeing daily activities, optimising processes, and ensuring the delivery of top-quality service that aligns with our company's mission of excellence in transportation.
Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aspects of transportation operations to ensure efficiency and safety.
- Develop and implement strategies for process improvement and cost reduction.
- Supervise staff, including drivers and operational personnel, fostering a collaborative team environment.
- Monitor transportation management systems and other logistics software to optimise routing and scheduling.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and safety standards.
- Coordinate with other departments to streamline supply chain activities.
- Analyse financial reports related to profit & loss statements to improve profitability.
- Lead initiatives for continuous improvement across all operational areas.
- Transport Manager qualifications are preferred but not essential
- Proven experience in supervising transportation or logistics operations.
- Strong understanding of transportation management systems, ERP systems, and logistics processes.
- Demonstrated ability to manage profit & loss statements effectively.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- Experience with process improvement methodologies.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems is a plus.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
