Transport Planner
Location: Ryton-on-Dunsmore, Warwickshire
Shift: Monday-Friday, 08:00-17:00 - Friday Working from Home
Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour
Contract: Full-Time, Ongoing Work
We are currently recruiting for Transport Planners to join a busy automotive logistics operation based in Ryton-on-Dunsmore. This is a fast-paced role supporting transport operations and vehicle movements across the UK.
The successful candidates will play a key role in coordinating transport activity, supporting operational efficiency, and ensuring effective communication across the wider transport team.
The Role:
As a Transport Planner, your responsibilities will include:
- Scheduling and booking daily transport movements
- Sourcing cost-effective transport solutions through subcontract hauliers
- Requesting the correct transport equipment based on customer requirements
- Monitoring subcontractor performance and service levels
- Planning transport activity in line with driver rules and regulations
- Maintaining excellent internal and external relationships
- Supporting the wider transport team with daily operational tasks
The Person:
- Previous experience within the logistics or transport industry
- Knowledge of the automotive industry is advantageous but not essential
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Confident using computer systems, as much of the role is computer based
- Able to communicate confidently with all levels of management internally and externally
- Confident using Microsoft Office packages including Excel, Outlook, and Teams
