At Cheshire West Recycling we’re looking for a Recycling Operative - Picker (picking materials on a moving conveyor belt within our Materials Recycling Facilities Plant), working a permanent Monday - Thursday 2.00pm - 10.00pm and Friday 12.00pm - 8.00pm shift, this is a permanent position, based at Ellesmere Port.

Salary: £26,759.79 basic pay, pro rata

Job Purpose
You will be responsible for picking various materials from the moving conveyor belt and placing this in the appropriate chute for further processing.
The post holder may be involved in working in any area of the Materials Recycling Facility (MRF) and the wider operating centre, as a recycling operative, you will play a vital role in the recycling process.
Principal Accountabilities
· To establish working relationships with Managers, Supervisors, and other staff.
· To carry out your responsibilities in an efficient and safe manner, ensuring that Health & Safety matters are always at the forefront.
· Ensuring that all operational work is carried out to specification and to the complete satisfaction of your Supervisor and Management.
· To always behave in a manner that is befitting of a Cheshire West Recycling employee and that you do not act in a manner that may bring the Company, the Client, or its agents into disrepute.
· To ensure that you always follow the instructions of any authorised person.
· Notwithstanding the details in this job description, the job holder will undertake such work as may be determined by the Manager from time to time, up to or at a level consistent with the Principal Responsibilities of the job.
Main Duties
· Picking selected materials from a moving conveyer.
· Separating materials for further recycling
· General duties throughout the Materials recycling facility.
· General housekeeping of machines and areas within the facility.
· Ensure quality and recovery rates are maximised.
· Follow all site safety rules.
