Café Supervisor x2
Permanent, 25.25 hours a week
Grade 4, £25,989 - £26,824 per annum pro rata
We are looking for two enthusiastic, confident and highly organized individuals for the role of Café Supervisor at the Harris. The supervisors work on a 2-week rota which covers Monday – Sunday, with each supervisor working 3 days one week and 4 days the following week.
Free to enter and open to everyone, The Harris is a culturally significant civic building - a place for people to meet, explore ideas and engage with culture in the centre of Preston. After a £19 million restoration bringing together a museum, art gallery and library with blended displays, The Harris hosts major changing exhibitions, cultural events and workshops with nationally significant collections. Since reopening in September 2025, the Harris has received over 320,000 visitors from Preston, Lancashire and across the UK and features in Time Out Magazine Top 20 Best Museums in the UK.
What’s the role about?
Reporting to the Food & Beverage Manager, you will supervise the day-to-day operation of the Harris café so it is commercially successful. With great people skills and supervisory skills, you will provide the highest standards of customer service and care, ensuring the café team meet high standards of food and drink preparation, counter displays and service every day.
This role provides weekend supervisor cover for the Harris, on a rota, with an additional day in the week to support the Harris café team.
What are we looking for?
You will need to be/have:
- Helpful and friendly with a positive attitude
- Customer focused with great communication skills
- Aware of Health & Safety compliance
- Able to lead and support a team daily
- Previous experience of supervising a team in a hospitality setting
- Experience of working to targets
