Deputy Nursery Manager - Working Mums Battersea, SW11
Full-time, permanent | 194–196 Sheepcote Lane, London SW11 5BP
Come and work somewhere with a bit of character.
Working Mums Battersea sits inside The Old Court, a beautiful historic building we've called home since 2015. Think high ceilings, a mezzanine, huge windows and light everywhere - plus a courtyard garden with a walk-in sandpit that the babies pour straight out into.
We're a 66-place nursery for children from three months to five years, split across four rooms: Discoverers and Explorers for our babies downstairs, then Inventors and our Little Einsteins pre-school room upstairs. Our team is long-standing, our curriculum is child-centred, and our managers are on the floor with you, not behind a door.
What you'll be doing
- Acting as key person to a small group of children - building real attachments, knowing their families, championing their next steps
- Planning and leading play that follows the children's interests, indoors and out
- Observing, assessing and recording progress in line with the EYFS
- Working in genuine partnership with parents, with honest daily feedback
- Keeping children safe, secure and thriving, and following our safeguarding procedures without exception
What we're looking for
- A full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification (Level 2 considered for the right person)
- Warmth, energy and patience - the things that can't be taught
- Solid working knowledge of the EYFS and safeguarding requirements
- Someone who wants to be in the play, not watching it from the side
- Paediatric first aid and food hygiene training welcome, but we'll fund it if you don't have it
What we offer
- Up to 41k per annum, with annual review
- 95% childcare discount for your own children
- Fully funded qualifications and CPD - Level 3, Level 5, Forest School and more
- Genuine progression: most of our room leaders and deputies were promoted internally
- Company pension, employee assistance programme, refer-a-friend bonus
- Hours between 8:00am and 6:00pm, Monday to Friday, with early and late shifts on rota
