Join our café team as a Barista/Café Assistant, where your individuality will play an important part in shaping our business' future. In this role, you’ll craft delicious beverages, serve food with a smile, and ensure our café runs smoothly and efficiently. You'll also be in charge of being an amazing host and explaining exactly how much fun each customer can have. This isn't your average cafe job, this is one that celebrates you and welcomes you into a weird but lovable family of geeks.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve a variety of coffees, teas, and other drinks according to established recipes and customer preferences
- Assist with food preparation, including ingredients for sandwiches and toasties, prepping baked goods to ensure quality and presentation standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas, dining areas, and equipment to uphold health and safety standards
- Provide friendly, attentive service to all customers, welcoming in newcomers, taking orders accurately and handling transactions efficiently using Square POS
- Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure the well-being of guests and staff at all times
- Manage time effectively during busy periods to serve customers promptly while maintaining high-quality standards
- Support stock management by restocking supplies and notifying management of inventory needs
Requirements
- Aged 18+
- Prior experience as a barista or in food service is necessary
- Knowledge of food safety practices and ability to follow hygiene standards consistently
- Basic math skills and time management to correctly process bookings and transactions accurately
- Excellent communication skills with a positive attitude towards teamwork and customer service
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting supplies or cleaning equipment
- A genuine passion for creating enjoyable guest experiences in a chill and laid back environment

Pay: £12.71-£13.45 per hour
