We are a well-established bespoke joinery company specialising in high-quality, custom-made timber products including doors, windows, fitted furniture, and architectural joinery. We take pride in craftsmanship, attention to detail, and turning unique client visions into beautifully finished pieces. We are now looking for a skilled CAD Designer to join our growing team.
Role Overview
Working closely with our design team, workshop, and clients, you will produce accurate, detailed technical drawings and occasional 3D models for all our bespoke joinery projects. You will translate design concepts into manufacturing-ready plans, ensuring every specification, measurement, and detail is precise and buildable.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed 2D and 3D CAD drawings, models, and production layouts from initial sketches, client requirements, or site measurements
- Produce full manufacturing documentation: cutting lists, material schedules, assembly drawings, and installation guides
- Liaise with clients, designers, and workshop teams to clarify requirements and resolve design or technical issues
- Ensure all drawings comply with relevant building regulations, standards, and safety requirements
- Maintain organised drawing files and revision control
- Occasionally attend site visits to take measurements or discuss design details
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a CAD designer, ideally within joinery, furniture, or architectural woodwork
- Proficiency in Rhino software is essential
- General AutoCAD experience is highly desirable and viewed as a strong advantage
- Excellent understanding of joinery techniques, timber properties, and manufacturing processes
- Ability to read and interpret sketches, technical notes, and architectural plans
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills – able to explain technical details clearly to clients and colleagues
- Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple projects to deadlines
