Overview
We are looking for Bank Staff Support Workers with the passion to work within our fantastic teams in our services across Halifax, Bradford and South Elmsall. You will be required to have at least 12 months experience in supporting Young people in supported accommodation.
Your working pattern in this role will require flexibility to meet the needs of the young people we support, and will include evening and weekend working.
The Role Includes
- Helping individuals achieve independence and personal goals
- Supporting and transporting individuals to integrate into their community
- Develop individuals home making skills and personal chores
- Transforming lives and achieving results for young people during their transition into adulthood.
- Helping our young people learn the skills required in order to live independently post 18
- Logging and creating incident reports, progress reports and any other information relative the young people in your care

But working with challenging people provides so much more in return, when you are able to see them learn, grow and flourish into independent young adults.
Duties
- Assist with daily activities including meal preparation, medication administration, and deliver key work sessions
- Engage the young people in social activities and provide support where necessary
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual's condition to the appropriate healthcare, social work and management professionals
- Drive individuals to appointments or outings when necessary.
Qualifications
- A Minimum of 12 months previous experience in a Support worker role with young people is Essential.
- Knowledge of first aid procedures and medication administration.
- Qualified to NVQ level 3 relevant to working with young people or currently registered and working towards NVQ level 3 Diploma for Children and Young People Essential
- Safeguarding and fire safety training is desirable
- Ability to work with individuals with challenging behaviour.
- A valid driver's licence is preferred for transportation purposes.
- Strong communication skills and a caring attitude towards the young people in our care.
DBS Checks will be performed with the successful candidate and a DBS certificate must be on the update system this is Essential
