Wentworth Hall is a Care Home providing Residential Care for 21 elderly people in a small converted Vicarage.
At times be a stand in cook to cover for holidays and sickness. To be responsible to the manager.
As a Kitchen Assistant, or acting cook you play a direct role in the comfort and care of our patients each day through serving them healthy and nutritious meals.
By doing so you are aligned with WENTWORTH HALL RESIDENTIAL HOME primary mission of providing a safe environment promoting long term recovery. You will partner with the Cook and Manager to maintain a therapeutic environment and routine for our residents.
As a kitchen assistant you will support the existing cook in daily preparation of food for our residents as needed to the highest standards. Washing pots throughout the day. Stocking up. Cleaning duties. Receiving deliveries. Record keeping. To be responsible to the cook.
To work a minimum of 20 hrs per week but more maybe available. Overtime when needed to cover for other kitchen assistants holidays and the cook when one is off.
You will be working on a rota basis but not fixed. It will include alternative weekends but more frequent when covering for holidays/sickness.
Acting cook - 7.30am to 2pm or 7.30am to 5.30pm
Kitchen assistant times. - a mixture of 3 shifts - 9.30am to 1.30pm, 1.30pm to 5.30pm and 9.30am to 5.30pm
Requirements:
- Experience in food service preparation
- Experience in administrative and record keeping
- Will have experience of working in a kitchen environment and cooking.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare nutritional meals approved menus provided.
- Document , food temperatures , menus, health and safety issues, cleaning schedules on a daily basis.
- When acting as cook prepare and follow the daily menus.
- Maintain all areas of cleanliness and organization per standard practices
Pay: £12.71-£12.81 per hour
