We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised and motivated Volunteering Team Lead to join the West Sussex DAWN service. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and develop a thriving volunteering programme that puts volunteers and service users at the heart of service delivery. You will play a key role in creating meaningful volunteering opportunities, strengthening service user involvement, and ensuring volunteers are recruited, trained, supported and empowered to make a real difference.
Working closely with service managers, staff teams, volunteers, service users and the National Volunteering Team, you will help create a positive culture of volunteering that enhances our services and delivers value to the communities we support.
Location: Countywide role across West Sussex
Hours: Full Time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent
Full-time hours at Change Grow Live are 37.5 hours per week. For part-time roles, salary and benefits will be pro rata based on contracted hours.

About the Role
As Volunteering Team Lead, you will be responsible for developing and embedding a local volunteering strategy that supports service objectives while creating meaningful opportunities for volunteers. You will recruit, train, support and coordinate a diverse volunteer workforce, ensuring volunteers have a positive experience and are able to achieve their personal goals while contributing to service outcomes.
You will also lead on service user involvement initiatives, ensuring that people who use our services have opportunities to shape, influence and co-produce service delivery. By promoting engagement and celebrating achievements, you will help create a vibrant and inclusive service culture where every voice matters.
This role requires regular collaboration across multiple sites and with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders to ensure volunteering remains a valued and impactful part of the service.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement a local volunteering strategy aligned to service needs.

Identify and create meaningful volunteering opportunities across the service.

Recruit, train, coordinate and support volunteers throughout their volunteering journey.

Promote and foster a positive volunteering culture within the service.

Support the welfare, wellbeing and ongoing development of volunteers.

Deliver and assess accredited and regulated training programmes for volunteers.

Train and support colleagues in the effective supervision and management of volunteers.

Develop partnerships and community links that attract and retain volunteers.

Investigate and resolve volunteer conduct matters where required.

Lead on service user involvement activities, forums and engagement events.

Work collaboratively with regional and national volunteering colleagues to share best practice and drive continuous improvement.
About You

You will have:

Experience recruiting, training and managing volunteers.

Experience delivering learning, training or development programmes.

Knowledge and understanding of the challenges faced by people accessing our services.

Experience promoting and supporting service user involvement and engagement.
