Commercial Kitchen Manager

About the Role
We are looking for an experienced, organised, and motivated Commercial Kitchen Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of our busy commercial kitchen. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong leadership skills, a passion for food production, and a commitment to maintaining the highest standards of food safety, quality, and efficiency.
You will be responsible for the co-management of the kitchen operation, leading and developing the kitchen team, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations, while controlling costs and maximising productivity.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operation of the commercial kitchen.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team to achieve high performance.
- Support the Head Chef to ensure all food is prepared and presented to company standards.
- Maintain compliance with all food hygiene, health and safety, and HACCP regulations.
- Monitor stock levels, place orders, and manage supplier relationships.
- Control food costs, waste, and labour budgets.
- Plan staffing levels and prepare rotas to meet business demands.
- Ensure all equipment is maintained and serviced appropriately.
- Conduct training, performance reviews, and support employee development.
- Work closely with senior management to improve operational efficiency and customer satisfaction.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across kitchen operations.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience managing a commercial or production kitchen.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Excellent knowledge of food safety legislation and HACCP.
- Experience managing budgets, stock control, and purchasing.
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities.
- The ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills.
- A hands-on approach with a positive attitude.
- Level 3 Food Hygiene qualification (or willingness to obtain).
- Health & Safety qualification (desirable).
