Banner Box / Young Guns Sports are looking for a Graphics & Print Assistant to join their well-established business in printing Large Format textiles / PVC / Fully customised sportswear.
You will be responsible for all pre-press operations. This includes working with client briefs to produce eye catching design for our sports wear brand YGS, setting up proofs, print setting & colour matching. As well as this, you will also offer help and support to the Sales Team, Print Team and Finishing Team.
You will also assist BB Graphics, within that job role you are responsible for ensuring that jobs are set up correctly and in a timely manner. You will have a keen eye for detail.
Staff at all levels in our business are responsible for, and contribute towards, the quality and success of our business. By providing support to our other teams Graphics and Print Assistant are a link in the chain between sales and print which is important to the overall success of the company.
Primary Objective:
To ensure work is designed, proofed and set up for print in a correct and timely manner. Proof sheets illustrate all details and colours are matched correctly.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
- Understanding clients’ briefs on designs and turn them into reality.
- Helping the Studio and Print teams to work as effectively as possible Operating printing equipment.
- Managing information and general administration.
- Preparing files for printing (RIP).
- Evaluating print and finishing decisions (as well as graphics).
- Professional use of our equipment.
- Liaising with customers via email and telephone.
- Generating proof sheets in accordance with Work Orders.
- Setting jobs up for print whether it be internally or externally.
- Helping in other departments linked to Banner Box.
- Adherence to health and safety always.
- Ensuring Quality Control.
- Effective Colour matching to relevant standards.
- Any other tasks as reasonably requested by the Directors or other senior managers.
Requirements
- Proven experience in graphic design with a strong portfolio showcasing digital and print work.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
- Excellent numeracy, literacy, communication & IT Skills.
This role is full time/permanent 40 hours per week, working Monday - Friday 08:30 -17:00. Occasionally overtime may be available dependant on seasonal workload.
