Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Waking Night Care Assistant to provide essential support to individuals in a care home setting. This role involves offering overnight assistance to residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being throughout the night. Responsibilities
- Monitor residents during the night, ensuring their safety and comfort at all times
- Respond promptly and appropriately to any calls or needs from residents during the night
- Assist with personal care tasks as required, respecting residents’ dignity and privacy
- Follow individual care plans meticulously to meet each resident’s specific needs
- Record relevant observations and incidents accurately in accordance with organisational procedures
- Maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents throughout the shift
- Communicate effectively with team members and other healthcare professionals regarding residents’ conditions and needs
- Support residents in maintaining their routines and providing emotional reassurance during the night
Skills
- Valid driving licence is desirable for supporting residents outside the care home or for errands
- Experience working within a care home or home care environment is advantageous but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow them precisely
- Proficiency in IT systems used for record keeping and communication within the organisation
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to listen actively and respond empathetically
- Fluency in English is essential for effective interaction with residents and team members
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are vital for maintaining accurate records and ensuring resident safety
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in providing high-quality personal care during overnight hours
Pay: From £12.21 per hour
