Overview
We are seeking reliable and skilled Class 1 and Class 2 Truck Drivers with lorry loader experience to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in commercial driving, and a strong commitment to safety and efficiency. As a Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods to various locations while ensuring timely and safe deliveries.
We offer a variety of work, with each day being different and we run a monthly reward scheme. We are a small company currently operating 10 vehicles, so we are a close-knit team where everyone knows each other and often have jobs requiring more than one vehicle to travel together. Each driver sticks to one vehicle other than holiday/sickness cover.
Responsibilities
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Load and secure cargo properly to prevent damage during transit.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules and any potential delays.
- Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures as well as industry regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service during deliveries, addressing any concerns or questions from clients.
Requirements
- Valid UK driving licence with appropriate endorsements for commercial driving.
- Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for transporting goods.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively to meet delivery deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills
