Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Health Care Assistant to join our team. This role offers an opportunity to provide essential support to individuals in their own homes or care homes. Duties
- Assist residents or clients with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility
- Support the development and implementation of personalised care plans
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals under your care
- Administer medication as directed by healthcare professionals
- Maintain accurate records of care provided and any changes in residents’ conditions
- Support with meal preparation and feeding where necessary
- Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times by adhering to health and safety protocols
- Assist with light domestic tasks within care environments or clients’ homes
- Communicate effectively with team members, healthcare professionals, and family members to ensure coordinated care
Skills
- Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to operate IT systems for record keeping and reporting purposes
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently
- Compassionate nature with a genuine interest in caring for others
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team within a care home or home care setting
- Driving skills and use of a car are desirable
- Knowledge of care plans and procedures relevant to elderly or vulnerable individuals
