Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and self-motivated Painter and Decorator to operate as an independent contractor. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction painting, possess excellent communication skills, and be capable of managing their own workload. This role offers flexibility and the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, from residential to commercial properties. A valid driving licence is essential for travel between sites. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering high-quality painting and decorating services, ensuring client satisfaction and maintaining professional standards.
Duties
- Prepare surfaces by cleaning, sanding, and filling cracks or holes to ensure a smooth finish
- Apply paint, varnish, wallpaper, and other decorative finishes to various surfaces in accordance with client specifications
- Operate painting tools and equipment safely and efficiently
- Manage own schedule and organise appointments with clients
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their requirements and provide professional advice where needed
- Maintain a clean work environment during and after completion of projects
- Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations
- Travel between different sites using a personal vehicle, ensuring timely arrival at each location
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction painting or decorating roles
- Valid driving licence and ability to travel independently between sites
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Ability to interpret technical instructions and client specifications accurately
- Organised with good time-management skills to handle multiple projects efficiently
- Knowledge of health and safety standards relevant to painting and decorating work
- Self-motivated with a professional attitude towards delivering quality workmanship

Pay: £15.00-£22.00 per hour
