I am recruiting on behalf of a well-established, family-run business in Galashiels that is looking for a professional, friendly and organised Receptionist to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a busy, customer-facing environment and takes pride in creating a positive first impression.
As the face of the business, you will be the first point of contact for customers, visitors and telephone enquiries. You'll play a key role in ensuring the reception area operates smoothly while providing administrative support to the wider team.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer incoming telephone calls promptly and direct enquiries to the appropriate departments.
- Welcome customers and visitors in a friendly and professional manner.
- Screen and transfer calls efficiently.
- Offer refreshments to customers and assist with the operation of the coffee machine.
- Order stationery and office consumables.
- Support the Service Department with pre-appointment reminder calls for vehicle servicing and repairs.
- Manage outgoing mail and courier collections.
- Ensure office printers are stocked with paper and consumables.
- Book accommodation for staff attending training courses.
- Maintain a clean, tidy and welcoming reception area.
- Provide general administrative support as required.
About You

Previous reception or customer service experience would be advantageous, although full training will be provided for the right candidate.
Experience using Microsoft Word and Excel would be beneficial but is not essential.
